This IR Pack was captured from a 1967 Vox AC30 2x12 cabinet, one of the most representative configurations in the evolution of British tone, renowned for its clarity, three-dimensionality, and harmonic character. During this historical period, Vox incorporated Celestion G12 ceramic tweeters, providing greater stability, more focused mids, and firmer bass, while maintaining the classic essence of the Vox sound but with more body and control.
For this collection we worked with an original cabinet equipped with Celestion G12 speakers, managing to capture its natural response, its sonic openness and the dynamic character that defines the vintage AC30, from bright cleans to musical and expressive edge of breakup.
High-end microphones were used: Telefunken M80, Shure SM57, Royer R121 and Telefunken U47, along with legendary Neve 1073 Vintage and API 512C preamps, ensuring a professional studio-quality signal chain.
The result is 11 Premium Impulse Responses obtained through a high-precision capture process: high-resolution frequency sweeps, absolute phase control, and a completely transparent audio path.
The goal was to accurately replicate the real behavior of the Vox AC30 1967 cabinet, achieving an IR that sounds and feels like the original, with an open, natural and musical frequency balance, maintaining the characteristic clarity of the Vox and the new firmer character provided by the G12s.
